Golf Concepts

Golf is a game played with the golf club and a ball. The stick with which the golfer hits the ball is called a club. Clubs are of many types and they have weird names as well. We will give you a brief introduction of this game.

The dimpled round-shaped white ball is smaller than the cricket ball and bigger than the ping-pong ball. The game is all about putting the ball in a hole at a distance by hitting that ball several times. Every time you hit the ball, different type of club is used for better results. Clubs are made from wood, iron, or titanium.

The first shot of golf is called tee shot, for the ball is teed-up from the ground to create the desired elevation. The club which is used to play this shot is called a driver. Golf training consists of both indoor and outdoor training sessions.

The golf course is a land made up of green, sand, and trees. The green is the area around the hole. After you play the tee shot, a couple of more shots such as pitching and chipping are played to get the ball near or on the green. The final shot that is played on the green is called putt and the club used is called putter.

The less the shots you take to hole the ball, the better your score would be. There are different scoring systems in golf. Par is a number of shots required for a skilled golfer to hole the ball. So there can be found par-2, par-3, and par-5 holes.

Golf is a game of precision and accuracy. A minute difference in angles, pressure, and swings can make the ball go haywire. Golf instruction teaches you the basics of golf on the field as well as off the field. A trained and skilled golf instructor can lead you to the precise world of golf.
